Who Should Do Your Email Marketing?

Are you really the best person to be doing your email marketing?

When you start a business one of the first things you do is figure out what you're good at, and what you're not so good at.

So if you absolutely love writing email copy but working out the technical side of things makes you want to put your head in a blender, then that's okay.

If you're a long-time listener then you'll know that there's more to email marketing than just writing emails, and there are plenty of people out there jumping with excitement at the thought of helping you out with the bits that you aren't keen on, or don't have the time for.

Subject Line Of The Week

Listeners Question

I have been avoiding starting an email list for years, total imposter syndrome, but over the years I’ve realised I have a lot to offer with email. So, how do I get started?

May King – @MayKingTea

Rob: You’ve come to a great realisation, which is that you have a ton to share and you’re probably already sharing it in other places! The first step is to pick an email marketing platform, and it’s probably best to start with something quite simple like ConvertKit or ActiveCampaign. Then you need to decide on something you can share with the world that will be valuable and create a lead magnet from that, then promote it across the platforms you’re already using.

Kennedy: Use your lead magnet to get people onto your list and then at least once a week you should email them with more useful information and tips. Tell stories about what you’ve been up to and link that story to a simple business lesson that your subscribers can go and use.
